“Educational Sciences: Special Education”
The MSc programme is offered by the only Department of Special Education in Greece and welcomed its first students in the academic year 2009–2010. The studies are of a very high academic level, as the Department is uniquely staffed by scholars of recognised prestige both in Greece and internationally, who specialise in a wide range of fields within Special Education and Training. This expertise is fully reflected in the curriculum.
Within the MSc programme, students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully respond to the modern demands of educating students with disabilities and/or special educational needs. They have the opportunity to connect theory with practice through the compulsory internship carried out in the 4th semester of their studies, as well as to develop research skills through the optional completion of a dissertation. Graduates of the programme are employed in both private and public sectors and enjoy a very high employability rate in positions relevant to their studies and specialisation.
